Are you having an outdoor wedding? Outdoor weddings have grown in popularity over the past number of years, hand in hand with the increase in humanist ceremonies. Although, you have every hope in the world that the weather will be spectacular, you need to be prepared in the event of a change of climate. Here are some things that you will need to consider when planning your outdoor nuptials and your back up plan.
We have got the power!
Electricity, will you need it? It’s not always essential for an intimate outdoor ceremony. However, if you plan on inviting a large number of guests to celebrate with you, microphones and a speaker system might be a requirement. Similarly, music speakers may not be essential, if you are having live music, but if you would like Ed Sheeran to sing you down the aisle, you may need extra speakers. Getting married in a wedding venue that caters for outdoor ceremonies is a great way to ensure everything is taken care of. The staff can share their expertise and advice with you, from previous weddings. If you are getting hitched in a non-traditional wedding venue, consider hiring an audio specialist to provide the appropriate equipment.
Plan B!
It can turn out to be an unnecessary expense, but having a back up venue will give you peace of mind on your special day. Weather is never a guarantee and you can’t check the wedding forecast for months or years down the line on your wedding date. The weather could be too windy to keep your veil on, or worse, too rainy to even keep your make up on! Even if the wedding day is fine, the ground could be muddy, or unsuitable to walk on from previous weather. Maybe you could look into hiring out a floor (yes, you can do that!). Overall, it may cost you some extra money, but you can’t put a price on peace of mind and enjoying your wedding day!
