It’s that time of year again! Hard to believe it, but it’s time to get snug and wrap up to keep warm. If you’re anything like us, you love staying as cuddly and warm as possible. If you’re worried about staying pristine, dry and warm on your day, here are some tips on getting your winter wedding style perfect.
Hair
The best looks for wet and windy days are either super hair sprayed up-dos (enough to leave another hole in the Ozone Layer) or at the very least, something loose and wavy that pulls back the hair from the front of your face. Try a side fringe braid that this French plaited half way across your scalp.
Make-up
Of course finishing spray (or if you don’t have any, hairspray works in a pinch) is a must to hold your look. Most Make-Up Artists know this is crucial to keep you face in one place (sorry about the rhyme!) as well as your standard waterproof mascara. Ask your MUA for little pots for touch ups throughout the day or ask for the list of products so you can buy some of them yourself. Foundations and loose powders, are the majors ones.
Accessories
Seems obvious, but for a winter wedding, warm coats and a pretty umbrella are a must. If you have a super long dress, make sure you have someone on duty to help you walk around outside. If you’re like us and your hands are always freezing, consider chic matching gloves for your dress (perfect for the 50’s retro bride) as well as the possibility of comfy boots.
Secret Weapons…
Not very sexy but… leggings! Think about it, if you’re going full length, there is no reason why you can’t layer up with leggings. Plus, many thermal leggings come in calf lengths, so no one will see them. Just be sure to get rid of them before the wedding night with your new man!
