Yes it’s true that some brides prefer to be left work out their wedding plan themselves. While we’re not asking you to go on Don’t Tell The Bride and leave the whole thing up to the groom we think it’s more than fair that the wedding planning is a joint effort. Or you could punish him for not helping with a hot pink colour theme but that would just be mean.
Instead, here are some friendly suggestions on how to get your man involved in your wedding:
Ask Him
Often it’s the simple case of ask and you shall receive. Instead of complaining about the workload piling up, just ask him to help. Make it easy for him and be specific, asking him to ‘help more’ will be too vague. Don’t forget to reward him by telling him how great he was for getting that done for you!
Keep it Fun
We can totally understand why most men are not going to be interested in some of the party planning. So this means there’s not much to grab their attention. Make the planning a little easier for them by updating each other regularly with photos, texts, emails etc. Why not get creative a make a wedding blog just for the two of you?
Appeal to His Tastes
Literally. If he loves food, get him to sort the snacks. If he’s mad for music, ask him to help with the wedding music. He’ll love that you’re coming to him for advice and will surely be delighted to step to the plate.
