As we’ve mentioned before, we kind of love to hate terrible sappy wedding songs. They are that part in the rom com with Hugh Grant (insert more relevant heart throb here) trying profess his love for a girl. He’s probably standing outside (maybe theres a little rain?) too.
And as much as we love to scoff at the cheesiness, you will definitely catch us trying to hide that tear in our eye at the end when they end up together! So here are 5 of the sappiest love songs ever, don’t fight it, you love them too…
You Are So Beautiful – Joe Cocker
You’re everything I hoped for, You’re everything I need…. Aw! This song is a classic to us. If someone sang this to us, we’d secretly love it.
Silly Little Love Songs – Wings
Written by Paul and Linda McCartney, Silly Little Love Songs isn’t especially sappy (in a Kim Kardashian kinda way) but we love this song because it says exactly how we feel in the first two lines:
You’d think that people would have had enough of silly love songs,
But I look around me and I see it isn’t so
Plus, it was in an episode of True Blood (it doesn’t any get more romantic than that!).
My heart will go on – Celine Dion
Okay, fine. Admittedly, this was on our ‘worst’ list too. And yes we still hear ‘the hotdogs go on’ still. But, it still is a fantastic song. And you can’t honestly say you’ve shamelessly belted this one out in the car once or twice. Great song, just don’t let it be your first dance song!
I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing- Aerosmith
A great comeback for Aerosmith, half of the reason we love this song so much is that it features in Armageddon (flashbacks to seeing it in the cinema!).
Side note-when typing this, I was hearing in my head don’t wanna miss a thang-ang. They really need the title to that.
Stay tuned for part two!
