We’re a romantic lot, us Brits. With the cost of weddings shooting up yearly, it becomes clear just what lengths we’ll go to when it comes to making our special day memorable. Did you know that in 2014, the average UK couple was spending at least £150 more to hire a band to play at their wedding party than the year before? Clearly, we like to get it right!
So what else has been making up the largest costs in our wedding budget? We know that perfect bridal gown can set you back a fair amount (an average of £600 more than the groom’s outfit apparently, so be ready to splash out), but it still doesn’t top the list of the biggest wedding expenses. To find out what does, take a look at the Infographic below by Sainsbury’s Bank.
Oh – and it might interest you to know that although we’ve been shelling out the pennies for our own special day, we don’t necessarily top the list of the world’s most generous wedding guests! You can find out which countries have been spending the most on wedding gifts here, too.
As long as you put together a budget, and have an idea of which aspects of your wedding are most important to you, there’s no reason your wedding won’t be the one you’ve always dreamed of.
Thanks to Sainsbury’s Bank for this interesting Infographic. If you are invited to a Spanish wedding any time soon, you better start saving for that gift!
