Sue knew from the moment she met Wayne that they would one day be husband and wife. After a relaxing Christmas Day proposal, their wedding on 8th of August 2015 was filled with touching moments and happiness – we’ve never seen a groom so taken with his bride and full of smiles on his big day!
After a week of rain and bad weather, the heavens cleared leaving Sue and Wayne with shining summer rays, perfectly matching their sunflower and beach theme. While on route to walk up the aisle, the bride made a very emotional and intimate stop to lay flowers at her father’s graveside.
Her fabulous bridesmaids were by her side every step of the way and as the best of friends do, they provided a few girly giggles ahead of the ceremony. Posing in their funky wellingtons in the heat, Sue’s main ladies proved to be a high-spirited bunch.
Sue wore a stunning ivory gown adorned with pearls and sparkle. The sheer fabric neckline sit perfectly against her flowing veil and her bridal bouquet filled with sunflowers popped in every photograph.
Heartfelt details such as their memory box filled with photographs of Sue’s father and Wayne’s parents were a lovely personal tribute to those who were absent from their special day. A light-up LED sign greeted friends and family with a quote as they entered the pair’s reception for an evening of celebrations.
“Our photographer Colin of MacLeod Paul Photography listened to our requirements and was extremely helpful. He completely understood what we wanted. Working with Colin was amazing, he gave us excellent guidance and support. On the day Colin was awesome, we told him we wanted to capture the day rather than lots of posed pictures and that is what he did, our pictures are amazing.”
“The features at our local church are beautiful and my dear dad’s funeral was also held there. It was close in location to the cemetery and I wanted to lay flowers on my dad’s grave before I got married.”
“We chose the Penventon Park Hotel due to the staff. On popping in to enquire about the wedding, the reception staff were amazing and this proceeded right through until we got married and also after. We truly love this hotel and the staff. The wow factor for us was the wedding breakfast room and how it was decorated.”
Huge thanks to Sue and Wayne for sharing the details of their special day with us and to Colin of MacLeod Paul Photography for allowing us the pleasure of using these images. You can view more of his work at www.macleodpaulphotography.co.uk
